Well the soldier who apparently voluntarily walked off of his own base and is now in the hands of the Taliban is alive. The Taliban released a 28 minute video of the soldier talking, eating, etc.
Either they or he made himself look like a Taliban with a shaved head and a beard. Anyway, an edited version is up on You Tube and on ABC website. I want to point out that it is edited for what I believe is sympathy from the American people. If you have seen prisoner footage in the past, compare it with this one and draw your own conclusions.

First impression: Has this guy ever heard of the Code of Conduct? Sorry, he either completely rolled over or he defected. He didn’t strike me as someone who has resisted his captors. On the other hand, maybe the guy was mentally on the edge anyway and it didn’t take much “persuasion” to get him to do the video. No telling what one might do given the choice of doing this video or a video of getting beheaded. I’m willing to give the guy the benefit of the doubt.
