Bouhammer can tell you that we knew this in 2006. This just goes to show how slow Government moves. It took over three years for them to figure out that the all environment combat uniform is apparently not well designed for “all†environments.

I’ll trust others to know best, but I am surprised. A few years ago I remember it was always fun to ask newcomers to “spot the soldier” on a series of large photos hung in the entryway to the HQ building in Bagram…finding the ACUs on a background of Afghan rubble and rocks was like a color-blindness test. So when do we find out what they’ll look like? Fashion statement!

How long did the last change of uniform take????
Remember Admiral Zumwalt’s Z-grams? Seems like we bought new uniforms, and then went back to the old ones in about 18 months. Whiplash for the military.
