I guess that the British, Canadian, Dutch, Danish, Romanian and Aussie soldiers in the south on daily combat missions with daily contacts don’t count. They’re “freeloaders” too, right?

I think I’m mistaken in the previous post. Prime rib was once a week, but Sunday was a
workday. Maybe it was every Friday. Just to correct the record.

In 2005-2006 we had a double sized (about 20 pax) Romanian ETT with us in Gardez.
I know they went out on missions.
I recall they went to the border with their Kandak when it moved out of Gardez.

I’d say the salsa classes, ice cream, etc. is reflective of headquarters conditions.
When I was at U.S. Embassy Baghdad, we had prime rib every Sunday.

We didn’t run into many foreign forces in Iraq, I wonder if American forces are running into the same problems there. It is demoralizing, the minute these countries suffer a loss they are quick to pull out of combat operations, mainly on the urging of their people on the government to cease operations. You would think they would act differently, they would definitely act differently if they were figthing the war because their nation was attacked.

It looks like you and B5 have similar thoughts. It seems the German SOF are leaving Afghanistan without having gone on any missions. Interesting concept in showing support.
